I had erroneously reported on this site that James Malcolm Dobie was married to Mary Elizabeth Faulkiner. After seeing copies of birth, marriage and death certificates, kindly provided by Betty Hansen, I am satisfied that James Malcom Dobie and the James Dobie that married Mary Elizabeth Faulkiner are different people. I would be very pleased to hear from any members of the Dobie family at Hamilton in Victoria with any information to the contrary.
The source of the information about the descendants of James Dobie and Mary Elizabeth Faulkiner was kindly provided by Allen Hokin of Hamilton, Victoria. I originally spoke with Alexander David Dobie, one of James and Mary's children, in about 1990 when I was living in Perth, Western Australia. Alexander David Dobie was living in Subiaco at the time and he put me in contact with Allen Hokin in Hamilton, Victoria. Allen Hokin provided me with detailed information about his branch of the Dobie family. James Dobie and Mary Elizabeth Faulkiner had nine children.
