Rebecca Branson was born at Titchmarsh on 28th February 1830, the only
daughter of James and Sarah Branson. She married John Webb at St. Mary's
the Virgin Church, Titchmarsh on 27th March 1848, in a double ceremony
with her brother James. John was born at Titchmarsh on 28th June 1828,
the son of Henry and Hannah Webb. Soon after their wedding John and Rebecca
applied to emigrate to South Australia. The application was accepted and
in mid July, along with two of Rebecca's newly wed brothers and their
wives, sailed from London aboard the "Poictiers". They arrived
at port Adelaide on 13th November 1848. The two brothers mentioned here are James Branson and William Branson. Neither William Branson, nor his wife, Lois Walker, are mentioned on this copy of the Poictiers Passenger List.
