James Branson was born at Titchmarsh on 10th November 1827. He married Eliza Goss at the Parish Church, Titchmarsh on 27th March 1848. Eliza was born at Titchmarsh on 14th September 1824. Shortly after their marriage James applied to emigrate to South Australia, his application was accepted. James and Eliza sailed from London aboard the "Poictiers", along with his brother William and his sister Rebecca (Webb). They arrived at Port Adelaide on 13th November 1848. William Branson is not mentioned on this copy of the Poictiers Passenger List. |
